Police are hunting three people in connection with a robbery at a Tauranga dairy early yesterday morning.
A man wielding a knife entered the shop alone, threatened the attendant, and demanded cash and cigarettes, senior sergeant Dave Archibald, of Tauranga police, said.
"The robbery occurred about 10.50 yesterday morning at the Carlisle Street Dairy off Argyll Street near the Greerton swimming pool.
"The woman attendant gave him cash and cigarettes and he left the shop and got into a smoky grey coloured four door sedan vehicle," Mr Archibald said.
The man, who was heavily disguised, got into the rear seat and was driven from the shop by two females seated in the front of the vehicle, he said.
The man was described as a male Maori in his late 20s.
