A truck carrying a load of squash has crashed on State Highway 2 near Gisborne.
Police were at the scene and said the truck and trailer unit was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Police said the crash between Te Karaka and Matawai on SH2 happened around 3:45am.
A crane is required to move the truck. There are no diversions and the road will be closed for several hours.
