A truck driver has been arrested in Wellington after fleeing from police last night.
Shortly after 10pm the driver failed to stop for police on the Wellington urban motorway.
Officers wanted to stop the vehicle because the driver was driving dangerously.
The driver took off up State Highway 2 towards Lower Hutt.
Police say they tried to spike the truck in Lower Hutt but the man continued to drive in a dangerous manner.
The truck was eventually stopped in Upper Hutt shortly after 11pm.
A 40-year-old man was arrested and will be appearing in Wellington District Court tomorrow, facing a range of driving related offences.
