Two people were taken to Whangarei Hospital by ambulance following a road crash on State Highway 1 this morning.
A police spokeswoman said traffic between Puhipuhi Road and Whananaki Road, near Hikurangi had been restricted to one lane for a brief period after the crash about 9.30am.
One person was seriously injured and another received moderate injuries as a result of the two vehicle crash, a St John spokeswoman said.
