The Warehouse is urging customers to stop using kettles it has recalled due to the risk of ``severe electric shock''.

The voluntary recall affects Living and Co stainless steel and red kettles bought after November 7.

The Warehouse merchandise general manager Jenny Epke said there were concerns some kettles may have a wiring fault that could cause ``a severe electric shock''.

``We advise customers who have purchased an affected kettle to stop using it immediately - or if still unpacked not to plug it in.''

The affected kettles have the purchase number 18920118 printed underneath the base station.

Customers should return those kettles to The Warehouse store for a full refund or an alternative product.

The fault became apparent after a customer raised concerns, and testing revealed the kettle was wired incorrectly.

``Our analysis indicates the fault is isolated to one particular kettle, but as a precaution we advise all customers who purchased these models after 7 November, 2016, to return it to their local The Warehouse store as soon as possible.''

Refunds on this product will be provided with or without a receipt.

Concerned customers can contact The Warehouse customer service team on 0800 422 274 for more information.
