A 47-year-old woman accused of murdering Christchurch woman Angela Blackmoore nearly 25 years ago has been released on bail.

Blackmoore, 21, was 10 weeks pregnant when she was stabbed 39 times in her home in the east Christchurch suburb of Wainoni on August 17, 1995.

The 47-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, whose names are suppressed, were charged with the murder on October 25.

On Thursday, lawyer Andrew Bailey made an application for the woman's release on bail, Stuff reported.

The woman has pleaded not guilty to the charge, while the man is expected to enter a plea when he appears in the High Court at Christchurch on December 13.

Police did not oppose the application and Justice Helen Cull granted the accused woman bail.

She must reside at an approved address, is not allowed to contact any witnesses or her co-accused and cannot apply for any travel documents.
