Police have released the name of a woman who died after the car she was driving collided with a tree in west Auckland this morning.
She was 38-year-old Georgina Rawinia Rikiti.
Police said the incident occurred on Astley Ave, New Lynn, shortly after 8am.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance but died shortly afterwards.
The serious crash unit investigation was expected to take several weeks.
