Youth in court over attack on elderly couple

A 17-year-old youth made a brief appearance in court today over an attack on an elderly Waikanae couple last week.

The couple were assaulted in their home and had their car stolen in the attack.

Hohepa Wallace, 17, of Otaki, appeared in Porirua District Court this morning on two charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and two charges of burglary related to the attack on the couple.

He made no application for bail and was remanded to reappear on Friday.
