The Health and Welfare forum, organised by Presbyterian Support and held in Burns Hall, First Church, was attended by about 30 people and seven of the 11 candidates for Dunedin South.
The woman verbally abused National's Conway Powell for his party's lack of commitment to keeping election promises, something which Mr Powell vehemently denied.
She then abused Clare Curran for Labour's failing to do anything about the state of some Housing New Zealand homes.
The candidates, including Dawn McIntosh for Democrats for Social Credit, Kay Murray (Alliance), Shane Gallagher (Green), Colin Nicholls (Act) and Phillip Wescombe (Kiwi) were each given six minutes to describe their party's stance on health and welfare.
The only other question to be asked was how the candidates and their parties would remedy the current trade deficit.
