Fairfield School’s Charlotte Aburn concentrates during her winning run in the  year 6 girls’ race at the Otago primary schools cross-country championships at Kaikorai Valley College yesterday.

The annual event attracted about 700 of the region’s top runners from year 5 to 8.

Runners qualified via their placings at their zone events or at school cross-countries for the intermediate grades.

Year 5 and 6 races were over 2km, and year 7 and 8 over 2.4km.

Results were unavailable last night.
