Geraldine residents brave cold for annual Lantern Walk

South Canterbury residents have braved a cold Geraldine evening for the annual Lantern Walk.

Timaru Courier reporter Greta Yeoman headed along to capture last week's winter light festivities.

Those attending gathered for hot chocolate and treats around the braziers, held in the well-decorated space next to the Geraldine Academy of Performance and Arts.

The procession then moved through the main streets of the town.

Lanterns, lights, winter-themed outfits and even one young child in a clever fantail costume were all part of the parade.
