Sea lion colony on Stewart Island could help boost numbers on Otago coasts

A small but thriving colony of New Zealand sea lions discovered several years ago in a remote harbour on Stewart Island could eventually help boost the population along Otago coasts.
 
That's the opinion of Massey University professor Louise Chilvers, who says several of the pups born at Port Pegasus are visiting beaches around Otago.
