Saudi man gets 5 years jail for TV sex talk

The lawyer of a Saudi man who appeared to be bragging about his sex life in a TV talk show says his client has been sentenced to five years in jail over the frank comments.

Sulaiman al-Jumeii says he will appeal the court's ruling.

Al-Jumeii insists the interview, broadcast July 15 on the Lebanese LBC channel, was manipulated and that his client, Mazen Abdul-Jawad, was not aware in many instances that he was being recorded.

Al-Juneii says three other men who appeared on the same TV broadcast were sentenced to two years each.

The program begins with Abdul-Jawad apparently talking about the first time he had sex.

The interview shocked many in this conservative country where such frank talk is rarely heard in public.
