Sword-wielding robber cut off by customers

A robber who threatened a clerk with a sword in a Logan City bottle shop has been foiled by two customers.

The 41-year-old man entered the shop in Loganholme on Friday evening and demanded money from the clerk while wielding a sword.

Two people in the shop grabbed him and held him till police turned up.

The Thornside man has been charged with one count of armed robbery using personal violence and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
