Dunedin Land Search and Rescue is affiliated to the National Land SAR body. Our 77 members are Volunteers who train and deploy for various situations in all terrains and weather conditions. Each member provides the majority of their own personal equipment and we are an active group who train weekly to maintain a strong operational standard. That sort of commitment is also illustrated by the longevity of our membership – ranging from 6 months – 39 years!

2017-18 has seen a significant increase in the number of searches our members have been active in - both urban and rural, and it is imperative we stay up to date with the latest techniques and training. Last year we were involved in 36 searches which is an increase of 45% on the previous year! Our searches had a 92% success rate.
