Kokako's Song - Children's Puppet Show

This year the Dunedin Fringe is offering a unique piece of Children’s Puppet Theatre as part of their desire to embrace a wider audience and encourage a more family-friendly branch of the festival.

With a whole menagerie of life-sized puppets and live music, ‘Kokako’s Song’ is a little show with a big heart!

The story is based around 6-year-old Angel. Searching for her dog on the outskirts of the city, Angel finds herself transported to the enchanting realm of the forest where she has a delightful encounter with some rare native creatures such as a kiwi, some cheeky fantails, a giant snail and even a real live kokako.

Perhaps this strange bird with the beautiful song and black face-mask might really be a Superhero – or maybe its just her granddad in disguise?

Created by Roger and Bridget Sanders of Birdlife Productions, this is a magically transformative story about finding courage, and the value of simple acts of kindness - it is theatre that is guaranteed to charm all ages and is not to be missed!
