When Dr Liesel Mitchell was diagnosed with a sleep condition called narcolepsy, little did she know it would provide the inspiration for helping others with their sleep.

As part of her coaching and education service, The Sleep Lab, a new podcast is being launched. The Sleep Lab Stories is for “anyone and everyone” to tell their sleep stories.

Each episode, Dr Mitchell chats with a different guest, who is invited to share “their weird, wonderful, and just plain normal sleep stories.”

Is snoring causing couple conflict? How do you deal with nightmares? What are the benefits of sunrise starts? These are just some of the sleep story topics covered in the podcast.

Listeners can tune in to either learn something new, or feel reassured that many sleep stories are universal.

When asked why stories about sleep were important right now,

Dr Mitchell said, “I wanted to let people struggling with sleep know they weren’t alone. There is also a growing interest in sleep health. Having personally experienced a lack of information or support around managing my own sleep, I felt that it was timely to use storytelling about sleep to both inform and reach out to people.”

So pull up a chair, tune in to OAR FM (or your favourite podcast platform) for The Sleep Lab Stories (sponsored by Grid Coffee Roasters).

Don’t miss the first weekly episode, Sunday June 21st at 10.30am for the early birds, and replayed Monday at 10pm for all you night owls.
