Success for Dunedin girl at dance competition

Dunedin highland dancer Luna Koyama won her age group class – 12 and under 14 at the NZ National Highland Dancing Championships in Christchurch during the school holidays.

In winning this class, she recorded four first places, a second, a third, and a sixth place.

Luna also competed in some under 16 age group dances, gaining a third, sixth and tenth placing, which was a big surprise for a 12-year-old.

Her dance teacher, Jacqui Seque, was delighted with the results and put her success down to many hours of practice.
