On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Fiordland remembered Armistice Day at Te Anau Flagpole, Anzac Reserve, with a small gathering.
The event was commemorating the signing of an armistice to end the fighting in World War 1 99 years ago.
Many New Zealanders attended wreath-laying ceremonies at war memorials nationwide, or pause in their homes and workplaces to observe two minutes' silence in memory of those who died while serving their country in World War 1.

Scouting Te Anau Scouts, Molly Allan (13) and Amelija Watson (12) laid the commemorative wreath on behalf of the Fiordland RSA at the Memorial Plaque, The Flagpole, Anzac Reserve.
Piper was David Pickett, and Eric Roy of Invercargill was the Guest Speaker.
