100 at biodynamics event

More than 100 people attended the opening of the New Zealand Biodynamic Association’s conference, at The Orchard Gardens, near Clyde, on Friday afternoon.

Delegates attended a workshop, which included looking at pruning biodynamically.

One of the speakers, Rachel Pomeroy, of Havelock North,  talked about the link between biodynamics, planting of crops and the movement of constellations.

She also talked about Matariki constellation (the Pleiades) and its appearance in the east, signifying the Maori new year, and how it represented new beginnings and a time for celebration.

The conference continued in Wanaka until yesterday.
