Central Otago District Council infrastructure services executive manager Julie Muir said the main road between Omakau and Ophir, between Leask St in Omakau and Swindon St in Ophir, would be closed from 9am to 3pm, May 21-25.
There would probably also be minor delays for drivers using the bridge from May 28-31.
A detour would be available for light vehicles via Ophir Bridge Rd and for heavy vehicles along State Highway 85.
Ms Muir said the work would be on the joint between the bridge and the road at both ends.
''Over time, the road and the bridge can move slightly, causing a bump and noise as vehicles go on to the bridge.''
The repairs would reduce the noise of vehicles using the bridge and make the crossing more comfortable for drivers.
