Emergency services were called to the scene after the vehicle the pair were travelling in crashed into a ditch about 2km south of the Tarras-Cromwell Rd, just before the turn-off to Wanaka, about 4pm on Saturday.
Police and ambulance staff from Cromwell attended, as well as members of the Luggate and Tarras Volunteer Fire Service.
The pair were not seriously hurt.
The top of the car appeared to have been cut open.
