A young Cromwell man who died in a car crash near the town was loved by many and his loss would affect the community deeply, a youth trust leader said.

Isaiah Peter Talaifiti Garr (20) died following a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 8, in the Cromwell Gorge, on Saturday afternoon.

Cromwell Youth Trust leader Clair Scott said Mr Garr was well known within many age groups.

‘‘He was just such a bubbly, friendly, outgoing sort of guy.’’

The Serious Crash Unit continued to investigate the cause of the crash, a police spokesman said.
