Traffic delays are expected when the New Zealand Transport Agency carries out $1.1 million worth of rock-stabilising work from March 11, at the Nevis Bluff on State Highway 6 in the Kawarau Gorge.
The work is scheduled to be finished by May 31.
Central Otago area manager John Jarvis said yesterday delays could be expected between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, until the work was finished. Most of these delays should be less than 20 minutes. However, Mr Jarvis said there would be closures of up to an hour, from time to time, for blasting work. Road users would be given as much advance notice as possible.
