Black Horse Brewery in Lawrence is enjoying a greater-than-usual number of visitors eager to see its daffodils, thanks to mild and sunny spring weather.

The site, which includes the picturesque ruins of a brewery built in 1884, and thousands of daffodils planted by its founders since 1895, was given a new lease of life by a fresh committee last year.

After extensive weed and bush clearance during the past year, the site was looking better than ever, trust secretary Mel Foster said. ''We've had some gorgeous weekends weather-wise, and this has brought out large amounts of visitors. It's looking spectacular.''

The site will be open from 10am-4pm, Friday-Sunday, until October 14.
