'Hobbit's Retreat' shows what Lego can do

Lego Users Group Otago president Jacqui Hay shows off her "Hobbit's Retreat" Lego creation at the inaugural Central Otago Brick Show in Cromwell at the weekend.

About 2500 people attended the event, the profits from which were given to the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust. Organisers said they were "blown away" by the numbers attending, and the successful event would be held in Cromwell every two years from now on.

Twelve group or individual exhibitors from throughout Otago displayed Lego creations at the show, which also had a popular "play zone" for visitors to make their own creations.
