Making a point in paint

Old cans of paint took centre stage briefly at a Central Otago District Council meeting this week.

Ruth McNamara displayed the cans as part of her submission to the annual plan about the lack of a hazardous waste collection point in Central Otago.

"The public is always asking Central Otago WasteBusters where they can dispose of chemicals, and paint and other hazardous waste," she said.

The council resolved to discuss the matter with the Otago Regional Council and to include the subject on the agenda for the next meeting of Otago and Southland local authority leaders.
