Speaking at the Alexandra Rainbow Run on Saturday, they said they had taken part in all of the Rainbow Runs organised by Sport Otago in the last three years, travelling to the events in Balclutha, Dunedin, Alexandra and Oamaru.
It was "a lot of fun" and really enjoyable to drive and take part in the colourful runs, where their white shirts became multi-coloured creations, Gina said.
It was all about "getting off the couch" and having a wonderful time, they said.
Sport Otago business development manager Michael Smith said there were about 230 people at the Alexandra event, raising about $1000 for Sporting Chance, a programme run by Sport Otago that provided financial assistance to children from disadvantaged circumstances to help them take part in sport.
