Rail trail blaze quickly contained

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from Alexandra, Clyde and Dunstan

were called to the fire on the edge of the cycle trail near Young Lane about 4pm.

The blaze was quickly contained and firefighters left within half an hour, he said.
