Rural fire officers returned to the scene of a fire at Clydevale in Central Otago early yesterday to assess the scene.
Otago principal rural fire officer Graeme Still said Tuesday’s operation had been successful, but a ‘‘mop-up phase’’ continued yesterday.
‘‘Our crews will continue to contain any hot spots at the site, and monitor the situation until it can be declared safe.’’
