Youths charged after dumping car

The Cromwell youths who allegedly dumped a car in Lake Dunstan near Cromwell during the weekend will face a charge of depositing dangerous litter.

Constable Doug Winter said yesterday three 17-year-old youths had been arrested and charged with that offence. One of those youths also faced a charge of disorderly behaviour, while two of them had been charged with operating a vehicle in a manner that caused sustained loss of traction.

They will appear before a registrar in the Alexandra District Court tomorrow.

Const Winter had yet to interview the fourth youth who was allegedly involved in the incident. Investigations were continuing, he said.
