Ice has prompted warnings for motorists on southern roads this morning.
The NZ Transport Agency advises of ice on several highways, including State Highway 8 Raes Junction-Milton; SH6 Kawarau Gorge and Gibbston to Frankton.
SH94 Hollyford-Chasm was closed for a time because of avalanche danger but has since reopened.
