Creating their fourth temporary public art installation in Oamaru’s heritage quarter this week, Struan Ashby (left) and Erica Duthie work on a vignette in Tyne St yesterday.

The couple, performing under the name, Tape Art New Zealand, create improvisational work from painter’s tape and pre-made painted recycled billboard skin, or advertising PVC, incorporating portraits of passers-by into their work.

Over the past 25 years, Mr Ashby and Ms Duthie have created and removed more than 350 murals.
