Assaulting police charge

A woman has been charged with assaulting a police officer in Oamaru.

Senior Sergeant Jason McCoy said a 26-year-old woman was arrested in Waterfront Rd at 9.30pm on Saturday.

She was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, wilful damage and assaulting police.

She will appear in the Oamaru District Court on January 26.
