Four people were injured when a car and school bus collided on State Highway 1 south of Oamaru yesterday afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Woolshed Rd, about 4.05pm.

All of those injured were in the car, she said.

A St John spokeswoman said three people had moderate injuries and one had minor injuries. A helicopter was initially called from Dunedin but was stood down.
