Two people avoided injury when their rental vehicle rolled on State Highway 1 north of Shag Point on Wednesday afternoon.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, of Oamaru, said witnesses said the vehicle hit a large puddle at high speed before the driver lost control. The vehicle then rolled and came to rest on its side.
A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Trent and Reed Sts, in Oamaru, shortly after 3pm on Wednesday resulted in one car hitting a power pole.
One driver had tried to turn right into Trent St and failed to give way to an oncoming vehicle. The vehicles' occupants were not injured, but two of them were taken to hospital for assessment, as a precaution.
