Police talk to witnesses near a car that crashed into the Salvation Army building in Oamaru’s North End yesterday.
The female driver was taken to Oamaru Hospital with moderate injuries after the mid-afternoon crash.
The car she was driving was shunted into the shop after being hit by the car behind it.
That car then spun and crashed into a parked car. Salvation Army North End Family Store manager Leighton McLay said the car broke a window.
He believed no customer in the store was put at risk by the crash. He was unsure whether there was any structural damage to the store, but it would be assessed, he said.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge said charges were yet to be laid.
