Police are concerned for the welfare of a boat owner who left their small, red yacht moored on Lake Benmore in the South Island a week ago.
Omarama Police said the sail boat had been moored at a farmer's private jetty since December 31, but the owner had not been seen.
The police wanted to check if the owner was OK, Senior Constable Nayland Smith told Fairfax.``There's no way out there unless it's by boat.''
