Covid-19 patient spent time in Palmerston

An Auckland man who tested positive for Covid-19 after attending the World Hereford Cattle Conference in Queenstown also spent time in Palmerston, the Southern District Health Board has confirmed.

The man stayed with family members in the East Otago town both before and after attending the conference.

He attended a church service in Palmerston on the morning of Sunday the 15th of March and then returned to Auckland where he was diagnosed (exact flight details and relevant locations will be released soon).

His family have been in isolation and members of the church congregation have also been advised to self-isolate since the diagnosis was made.

The SDHB believe it was likely he contracted the virus at the cattle conference in Queenstown, which ran from the 9th – 13th of March.
