Drink-drivers caught in Oamaru

A spate of drink-driving incidents over the weekend has left Oamaru police disappointed.

Four people were processed for drink-driving on Saturday and Sunday, including three between 1.30am and 2.20am on Sunday.

The highest reading was returned by a 28-year-old Oamaru man who was stopped on Kenilworth Rd at 1.20am.

He was found to have a breath-alcohol level of 663mcg.

A 22-year-old Oamaru man who was stopped on Humber St refused a breath-alcohol test and instead elected to undergo a blood test.

The result of the test is pending.
