Emergency services were close at hand to help after a three-car nose-to-tail crash on State Highway 1 south of Herbert yesterday.

About 500m south of the scene, police, fire and St John were at a crash in which a car and caravan left the road and overturned.

A police spokeswoman said they were called to the single-vehicle crash near Finlayson Rd about 1.35pm.

There appeared to be no injuries.

The Herbert-Hampden road was not closed, but traffic management was in place and about 2.45pm, there was a three-car pile-up at the brow of the hill as south-bound traffic was lined up.
