The school’s major fundraising event, which was not held last year, will light up the sky in November.
It is always a crowd-pleaser, the 2022 and 2023 events drawing roughly 3000 people each.
The decision to postpone last year’s event was due to the economic climate, Weston School Fireworks co-ordinator Kim Hill said.
"We get a lot of sponsors from around the Waitaki region so we felt like two [events] year after year is quite a lot to ask of people to donate.
"It’s really exciting to be back this year."
The money raised would benefit all the pupils, she said.
"It goes to the home and school committee and then we distribute it where the needs are.
"It means lots of extra stuff that normally you wouldn’t have at school."
The organising committee had been planning since May, she said.
There would also be food vendors and fun family activities such as bouncy castles, soft archery, hair braiding and balloon artist Pippity Pop.
A new addition this year will be inflatable laser tag.
In total, it would be supported by more than 30 sponsors from around Waitaki.
