A report that a car towing a boat careered off a bridge near Otematata is incorrect, police say.
A police spokeswoman said the vehicle went through a fence in Otematata-Kurow Rd, but no-one was injured and the vehicle was able to carry on "with no issues".
"It turned out to be a bit of a non-event, luckily,'' she said.
"It was just a really minor crash in the end.''
Stuff reported that the car plunged 20m off a bridge.
