Till concert fundraiser

A concert by pianist Maurice Till at the Opera House in Oamaru next Wednesday night is a fundraiser for the Forrester Gallery's redevelopment project.

Till, whose late wife, Leila, came from North Otago, said he felt a special connection with Oamaru audiences.

In addition to close family members living in the town, he was always pleased to meet former members of the late Myra Chase's Oamaru Orpheus Choir, which made "such an impression" on him when they sang in Christchurch as long ago as 1946.
