Victorian Heritage celebrations begin

Waitaki Mayor Gary Kircher officially launches the 2019 Oamaru Victorian Heritage Celebrations alongside celebrations committee chairwoman Diane Lee at its grand opening on the steps of the Oamaru Opera House in Oamaru yesterday.

"Wheels" is the theme of this year's celebrations, which showcase a series of events reflecting the nice, and at times naughty, side of Victorian life.

The celebrations wrap up on Sunday with a Victorian fete in the town's Victorian precinct.
