It was the last event in this year’s Oamaru Heritage Celebrations, and has been held since 1996 to promote Oamaru and heritage cycling.
It involved 20 old bikes taking on the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail - although just one penny farthing managed the entire trail.
Spokesman Mr Wilson said the Lake Ohau Lodge-to-Omarama section was the most arduous, the rough track proving too much for the solid-tyre bikes.
