The Lakes District gets festive this month with the biennial Festival of Colour, a six-day region-wide celebration of the arts from April 12-17.
It features theatre, dance, art, film and music.
Easter weekend brings the inaugural Queenstown Bike Festival from April 16-25 - the Tour de Wakatipu, Dirtmasters Downhill and a Super D race, social rides and festival parties.
The Arrowtown Autumn Festival, April 29 to May 8 celebrates the town's heritage and autumn's colours.
