After travelling almost the length of New Zealand, only 35 minutes separated the fastest three teams in this year's Novotel $10 Queenstown Challenge to Cure Kids race.

Twenty-nine teams set out from Auckland on Wednesday with just $10 in their pocket, completing a series of challenges on the way to Queenstown to decide the final placings.

The first team to arrive was Dave Watson and Louise Patrick, of the Briscoe Muffin Stuffers, at 2.44pm yesterday.

The Blonde and the Brunette team, of Morgan Emery and Simone Withell, arrived at 2.55pm, followed by Team Dash, represented by Carol Lindley and Tony Bishop, at 3.19pm.

The Champion Fundraising Trophy was won by Tony Gorton and Patrick Flavall, of the Turnstone Titans, with $25,350.
