Bachman and Turner added to the international rock flavour of the event.
An estimated 15,000 people braved the harsh Gibbston sun and and attended the sold out Gibbston Valley Summer Concert, the final in a four-tour New Zealand series.
The concert culminated with an hour-long set by Pat Benatar and guitarist husband Neil Giraldo and began with two Wakatipu High School bands, ahead of international rock acts America and Bachman and Turner.
Sunblock was a wanted commodity and sun hats were uniform under the cloudless sky and dry heat.
