The onset of cooler weather is a prompt for film enthusiasts to get excited.
Tonight is the Queenstown Film Society's opening night for its 2014 season.
During the six-month long season a selection of hand-picked films - some with classic or cult status - will be shown at Dorothy Browns Cinema in Arrowtown.
The films are not everyday standard fare and had been selected from throughout the past 75 years for their ability to challenge, inspire, move and entertain.
